Let Love Be Your Governing Principle

Busy. Frustrated. Frazzled. The life of a mother can be overwhelming at times. We are responsible for the condition of our house and its inhabitants. Schedules, appointments, the laundry, grocery shopping, dinner, housekeeping...(the list goes on)...playing referee, or in my case, milk-bar and human bouncy-chair--it is a wonder that women lose their minds as they age! We endure more pressure from daily tasks than the average person during the industrial revolution!
At times I have felt like a ball of yarn tightly wound
A hamster on a wheel
Like I'm walking on a treadmill
One day merges into the next
Even a power nap sounds like luxury.
In the whirlwind of activities, I have learned that if I take a moment to be still...

...and remember that everything I do is done out of love.

The joy that results from that thought resounds far above the hectic hustle of the day. The tension melts away as I realize that God has enabled me to carry out each task. And I am thankful for what I do have.

Even when things don't work out as I planned, I can be still...

...and know that He is God who takes care of me

...as I go about daily caring for my family.

Let Love be your governing principle.

I love your principle and totally agree. I've been reading "unconditional parenting" and it has helped me look at parenting in a new way, much like what you are describing. Love your blog, your kids are adorable. I'm so glad we've reconnected!
